Warren Averett Staffing & Recruiting is seeking an experienced Accountant for a client in the Huntsville area. Our ideal candidate will have 2+ years of relevant accounting experience as well as a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting/Finance.

Responsibilities

  • Strong understanding and application of U.S. GAAP
  • Preparation and reporting of financial statements 
  • Accounting and reporting for multi-divisional entities
  • Working with multiple entities and performing consolidations
  • Month end closing processes and procedures
  • Maintaining account/bank reconciliations
  • Payroll
  • Accounting for and maintaining fixed asset records
  • Proficiency with excel (pivot tables)
  • Budget and projection preparations
  • Working with outside auditors and tax preparers to provide reports and information needed for completing annual tax return and financial statements
  • Other special projects as needed,  ability to communicate and work across departments 

Requirements

  • 2+ years of relevant accounting experience
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting/Finance
  • CPA preferred
  • Experience with Newstar (or experience with other accounting software programs)
  • QuickBooks experience is a plus
