Steven G. Schaffer | Bryan Cave Leighton Paisner

Steven G. Schaffer is a partner in the Atlanta office of Bryan Cave Leighton Paisner, an international law firm with over 1,400 lawyers in the United States, Europe, Middle East and Asia. Mr. Schaffer’s practice involves employee benefits and executive compensation, with special emphasis on the employee stock ownership plans (ESOPs).  He has worked with hundreds of ESOPs for over 35 years, representing companies, trustees, valuation firms, selling shareholder and lending institutions. His practice includes ESOP planning, transaction formations, and lending. Mr. Schaffer also has significant experience in the area of executive compensation, both involving ESOP companies and non-ESOP companies alike.

Mark Buchanan | Macquarie Capital

Mark Buchanan is a Managing Director at Macquarie Capital focused on working with family offices, founder led businesses and ESOP owned companies. Mark has advised numerous ESOPs on strategic alternatives including recent successful advisory assignments for two of the largest ESOPs in the country. Mark brings extensive experience on M&A, capital raising, ownership transition, dividend recaps, ESOP formations, seller note redemptions and mature ESOP recapitalizations across multiple industries. He has played a key role in navigating highly complex ESOP issues while delivering creative solutions.
