Deadline for Alabama Medicaid Rate Increase

Written on May 1, 2013

This Friday, May 3, 2013 is the deadline to complete and return the attestation necessary to be paid at the Medicare fee schedule for certain primary care services provided to Alabama Medicaid patients.  This applies to primary care physicians who participate with Alabama Medicaid.  The form can be accessed by clicking this link.

Physicians who are enrolled with Alabama Medicaid and who specialize in, or are a subspecialty under, family medicine, general internal medicine, or pediatrics, can receive payment at the applicable Medicare fee schedule for certain evaluation and management services.  The higher fee schedule would be received through December 31, 2014.  Physicians who are board certified in these specialties are eligible, but must complete the attestation to receive the additional payment.  Physicians in these specialties who are not board certified and at least 60% of their Medicaid billings are for certain evaluation and management procedure codes are also eligible, but also must complete the attestation to receive the additional payment. The attestation contains details and specific instructions.
