Small Contractors May Need to Fight Hard to Save the Set-Aside System

The Section 809 Panel, a group established by Congress in the FY 2016 NDAA to address issues with the way DoD buys what it needs to equip its warfighters, has recommended in its third and final report that Congress eliminate most small business set-asides for DoD acquisitions, replacing the current system with a 5-percent small business preference.  This article from SmallGovcon.com explains the situation in more detail.
