Warren Averett has completed an internal fundraising campaign totaling $12,404 that will be donated to the America Red Cross, supporting Typhoon Haiyan Relief for the Philippines. Employees firm-wide raised $7,404 toward the Typhoon Haiyan fundraiser. This amount will be combined with a corporate match of $5,000 from the Firm.

Typhoon Haiyan made landfall in the Philippines on November 8, 2013, resulting in extensive damage. The combination of powerful winds, heavy rains and seawater brought inland by storm surges has devastated buildings, communities and families. Authorities are still determining casualty figures, with the latest update released by the government indicating over two million families (9.67 million people) affected across 41 provinces. Given the scope of the disaster and the corresponding intervention required, the national authorities have declared a state of national calamity and indicated that they will accept international assistance.

“Our hearts and prayers go out to the survivors and the victims’ families of Typhoon Haiyan,” stated Jim Cunningham, Chief Executive Officer of Warren Averett. “Our company and employees strive to live out our corporate value of ‘Sharing our Success.’ It is essential to give back, especially during times of immense need. We are proud to partner with the American Red Cross to raise funds that will directly serve the people of the Philippines.”
