Warren Averett Hires New Financial Institution Consultant

Warren Averett, LLC is pleased to welcome Hugh B. (Tre) Harris III to the Firm. Harris joins the team as a Regulatory Compliance and Internal Audit Consultant in the Birmingham Office. He will focus on providing consulting services for the Firm’s financial institution clients as well as enhancing the Firm’s exposure in this growing practice area throughout the Southeast. He will also be working alongside the leaders of Performance Solutions, Inc. (PSI) with whom the Firm recently formed a strategic alliance to better serve banks throughout the nation.

Harris is an internal audit and compliance professional with over 30 years of experience in the financial industry.  He began his career with the internal audit department of a Birmingham savings and loan.  Since that time, he has held various positions of increasing responsibility with large regional institutions in internal audit and regulatory compliance to include Chief Internal Auditor.  Harris has an extensive background regarding the design, implementation and execution of both internal audit and compliance processes, policies and procedures.

A leader in every sense of the word, Harris has built his career on being a servant leader as evidenced by the teams he has built and the legacy he leaves behind at each institution he has served, including his decade of service as a Captain in the U.S. Army Reserve.

Harris holds a Corporate Finance degree from the University of Alabama and an MBA from Samford University. He is also a Certified Bank Auditor, a Certified Risk Professional and holds a Series 7 License.  When he isn’t working, Harris enjoys traveling and attending sporting events with his family.  He has been married to his wife Beth for 35 years.  They have two adult daughters, Kathryn and Caroline, and a grandson, Luke.
