Warren Averett’s Irby Thompson Obtains Accredited Estate Planner’s Certification

Warren Averett, LLC, Certified Public Accountants and Advisors, is pleased to announce that Member, Irby Thompson, CFP®, AEP® has been approved as an Accredited Estate Planner® (AEP®). The AEP® designation is awarded by the National Association of Estate Planners & Councils (NAEPC) to credentialed estate planning professionals who meet special requirements of education, experience, knowledge, professional reputation and character. The AEP® designation is only available to attorneys, CPA’s, CLU’s, CFP®’s, ChFC’s and Certified Trust and Financial Analysts.

Thompson has spent more than 35 years in the financial services industry, and serves as Vice President of Warren Averett Asset Management, as well as a member of the Investment Committee. After graduating from the University of Alabama in 1976, he was an owner and principal of Thompson Insurance, Inc., a commercial lines insurance agency, for 20 years. In 1990 he joined a Registered Investment Advisory firm as a consultant. During his tenure there he worked with clients of all sizes, and headed the firm’s relationship with its largest client, a three hundred million dollar retirement plan. Irby has had significant experience in the process of portfolio design, investment manager research and selection and the ongoing monitoring of portfolio performance.

Thompson joins approximately 1,700 designees across the US, and is recognized as a AEP® who has committed to the specialized knowledge and team approach to estate planning.
