Team members in Warren Averett’s Fort Walton Beach and Foley accounting and advisory offices recently participated in and helped sponsor the Alayna Brianne Bowman Memorial Scholarship Foundation’s 10th annual golf tournament.
The foundation was founded in memory of Alayna Brianne Bowman, who was a rising high school senior when she was killed in a car accident while turning into the Bowman family driveway. Her younger brother decided to form the scholarship foundation in her memory.
The 10th annual golf tournament took place on June 10 at the Fort Walton Beach Golf Course. Each year, the golf tournament’s proceeds go towards supporting local high school seniors in their pursuit of a college education. Since its inception, the foundation has donated over $70,000 to students in need.
The Warren Averett golf team played in and sponsored a hole at the tournament. The day wrapped up with a dinner, the scholarship presentation, a live auction, a silent auction, door prizes and an opportunity for everyone to participate in fellowship. Team members Joel Bradley, CPA, Stephen Perkins, CPA, Marissa Lowe, Chad Hamilton, CPA, and Chris Kiley, CPA, were in attendance.
“It was an honor to participate in the golf tournament again this year,” said Jody Henderson, CPA, CCIFP, the Office Managing Member of the firm’s Fort Walton Beach accounting and advisory office. “We hold the Alayna Brianne Bowman Memorial Scholarship Foundation very near and dear to our hearts, and we enjoy any opportunity to help support and further their goal of providing local seniors with scholarships for their college education. We can’t wait to participate again next year.”
