Written on September 2, 2026

Amber Stout, CPA, a Member and the Leader of Warren Averett’s Client Accounting Services Division, recently presented at the Accounting & Financial Women’s Alliance (AFWA) Huntsville Chapter Fall Seminar.

The seminar brings together accounting and finance professionals from across North Alabama for continuing professional education while supporting the chapter’s scholarship program.

Amber’s presentation, Accounting for Government Contractors in a Technology-Driven Environment, focused on common accounting and compliance challenges facing government contractors. Attendees learned about government contracting accounting fundamentals, DCAA readiness and audit preparedness, along with strategies for building accounting systems that support compliance and operational efficiency.

“It was great to connect with professionals from across North Alabama and share ideas about government contracting, compliance and technology,” Amber said. “My goal was to provide practical takeaways attendees can use in their day-to-day work and help them think about new ways to strengthen their processes as technology continues to evolve.”

The session also explored opportunities to use technology and artificial intelligence to improve accounting processes, increase financial visibility and strengthen internal controls. Amber shared practical AI applications, discussed potential risks and emphasized the importance of maintaining appropriate human oversight as organizations continue adopting new technologies.

Amber has more than 10 years of experience and specializes in DCAA compliance, budgeting and forecasting, system evaluations, financial reviews and process improvement. She works closely with clients to help them strengthen operations, maintain compliance and make the most of the technology available to support growth and decision-making.
