Courtney Morris, CPA, a Campus Recruiting Manager for our Birmingham accounting and advisory office, has been recognized as one of the honorees for Birmingham Business Journal’s NextGen General 2024.
The NextGen General 2024 awards focus on emerging leaders in the Birmingham business community throughout every industry. Honorees were nominated and selected based on contributions to their companies, their role in their industries, the likelihood of becoming a key leader and their community advocacy.
Before starting her recruiting position with Warren Averett, Courtney worked in tax at a different firm for two years. Her primary responsibilities include recruiting top talent for internship roles across all of the firm’s offices as well as maintaining relationships with college professors to build the Warren Averett brand.
Courtney was showcased in a feature about the nominees and discussed the most rewarding moments of her career, some valuable life lessons, the biggest opportunities and challenges for her industry, and her ultimate career goals.
When asked about her career, Courtney said: “The most rewarding moments of my career are when I see employees who we hired as interns rise organically through the firm and really thrive and enjoy what they are doing. It is important for us to find people who are the right fit for our firm, and when it all works, it is extremely rewarding.”
