Cristy Andrews Contributes to Multi-Housing News
Cristy Andrews, CPA, CGMA, of Warren Averett’s Montgomery accounting and advisory office, recently contributed to a Multi-Housing News article.
Multi-Housing News (MHN) is the leading resource for executives and companies that own, invest in, develop, manage and market multifamily real estate. The publication reports on news, trends and issues in real estate markets across the United States.
Various real estate experts weighed in to share their advice in MHN’s article, 4 Strategies for Attracting New Residents—Without Concessions.
To help properties navigate the slowing rental market, contributors suggested waiving fees, starting marketing efforts earlier, creating a sense of community and going back to the basics of marketing strategy. All the experts agreed that it was important to identify the target audience for any marketing efforts to ensure consistency with messaging and to understand how to best attract potential renters.
Andrews emphasized that while offering rent concessions to attract potential renters is appealing, these concessions could have negative consequences. Rent concessions can potentially reduce cash flow and impact the value of the property itself.
