MHN’s article, 5 Multifamily Marketing Budget Essentials, covered five important factors for multifamily owners, operators and marketers to consider before they prepare and finalize their 2024 apartment community budgets. Various real estate experts weighed in to share their advice.
In addition to current market conditions and past budget numbers, owners and managers should also consider actual versus budgeted variances and any line items subject to fluctuation, as well as managing budget expectations and communication with staff at all levels.
Managing budget expectations and being realistic was emphasized in the article, and the featured experts agreed that the best budgets are based on facts and reasonable assumptions and estimates. Andrews shared the most common budgeting error she sees with her clients and stressed the importance of ensuring that budget numbers match industry and market realities.
