Emily Jones Featured in the Montgomery Business Journal
Warren Averett Technology Group’s Emily Jones, PMP, CABM, MCITP, of the firm’s Montgomery accounting and advisory office, was featured in the November issue of the Montgomery Business Journal.
The Montgomery Business Journal is a publication that features insights from local business leaders about relevant topics, trends and events for organizations in the area.
In her article, Jones discusses how businesses can reduce the chances of their accounting departments being hacked and how they may strengthen their cybersecurity to prepare for future attempts.
When asked about why cyber-education is important, Jones says, “What you don’t know can hurt you in the cyberthreat arena. We, as humans, are the number one cause of a cyberattack being successful. None of us wants to be the weakest link, and the only way to help is through cyber-education, or more importantly, practicing what you learned.”
Throughout the piece, Jones emphasizes that it is important for businesses to take an active role in cybersecurity by adding an anti-phishing solution to their corporate software, backing up and having a recovery plan for their computer systems and investing in a cyber-insurance policy.
Emily Jones serves as the Practice Leader and Director of Operations for Warren Averett Technology Group and has more than 30 years of experience. Her primary responsibilities include management of all administrative and operational functions. She resides in Millbrook, Alabama with her husband.
