Missy Herbert named to the AICPA’s EBPAQC Executive Committee

Written on March 27, 2018

Warren Averett CPAs and Advisors is pleased to announce that Member, Missy Herbert has been named to the American Institute of CPA’s Employee Benefit Plan Audit Quality Control Executive Committee.

The Employee Benefit Plan Audit Quality Control Executive Committee (EBPAQC) is a committee of volunteers who together establish general policies of the EBPAQC Center and oversees its activities. The committee is made up of 16 members who serve one-year terms.

Being nominated to the executive committee is an impressive honor, as candidates must have significant employee benefit plan audit experience, and the candidate’s firm must be in compliance with all of the Center’s membership requirements. To achieve membership Missy has demonstrated commitment to improving ERISA audit quality within Warren Averett and is expected to be active in the Georgia Society of CPAs. As part of participation in the committee, Missy is committed to serving 125 to 150 volunteer hours per year, and will be expected to participate in task forces and in speaking engagements.

“I’m looking forward to the opportunity to represent Warren Averett on this committee” says Herbert. “Employee benefit plan audits are my specialty and my passion, and I am honored to be selected for such an important committee.”

Herbert’s participation in this committee reinforces the depth of expertise that Warren Averett’s Employee Benefit Plan Audit team holds. Nomination to the EBPAQC committee is a big success for Herbert and the Firm, but it will also allow her to better serve our clients and help them thrive.
