Montgomery Young Professionals Volunteer with Heart of Alabama Food Bank
Team members in Warren Averett’s Montgomery accounting and advisory office recently volunteered with the Heart of Alabama Food Bank (HAFB).
For 36 years, the Heart of Alabama Food Bank’s mission has been to nourish the hungry, educate and mobilize the community, engage in partnerships that advance self-sufficiency and gather and distribute food to those in need.
Warren Averett’s Montgomery Young Professionals is an internal group of team members dedicated to community involvement and fostering meaningful connections among themselves as they navigate the early and mid-stages of their careers.
During December 2023, they volunteered to assemble boxes for HAFB’s Senior Supplement Program, which provides supplemental nutritious food to senior citizens. Each month, they receive a box filled with 25 to 35 pounds of food that contains items typically lacking in the diet of older adults, with a focus on nutrient-rich fresh produce and foods high in protein and fiber.
The Montgomery Young Professionals put together 374 boxes that will provide meals for Montgomery’s senior citizens.
“I am incredibly proud of the young professionals who dedicated their time and energy to volunteer with the Heart of Alabama Food Bank,” said Cristy Andrews, CPA, CGMA, the leader of the Montgomery Young Professionals. “This event reflects our commitment to community involvement and highlights the connections among our team. I look forward to continuing our efforts in creating a lasting impact on the Montgomery community.”
Warren Averett thanks all team members who volunteered.
