Rick Blanton, CPA, an Audit Senior Manager in the firm’s Montgomery accounting and advisory office, has received the Silver Beaver Award from the Boy Scouts of America’s National Court of Honor for his work with the Tukabatchee Area Council.

The Tukabatchee Area Council serves 14 counties in south central Alabama. Their mission is to provide character development and values-based leadership training for local youth. Scouting programs are led entirely by volunteers that have been appointed by a local chartering organization. These programs and volunteers are supported by local councils.

The Silver Beaver Award is granted by the National Court of Honor to those who have made an impact on the lives of youths in their local community through the boy scouts. It is the highest recognition that can be bestowed upon volunteer leaders by their local councils.

Rick Blanton has been on the Tukabatchee Area Council for eight years and has served as Treasurer for seven. He takes great pride in his service on the council and strives to help his local community.

“It is an honor to receive the Silver Beaver Award,” said Blanton. “I have always held the Boy Scouts near and dear to my heart. Receiving this award feels like my efforts are making a tangible impact on the youth in my community. I look forward to continuing my work on the Council and with my local scouts.”

Blanton joined Warren Averett in 2010. He has more than 10 years of public accounting experience. His primary responsibilities include planning and conducting audits for governmental and nonprofit organizations. He resides in Montgomery with his wife.
