Ryan Grauel, CPA, a Member in the firm’s Birmingham accounting and advisory office, recently presented at the Nonprofit Training Series program hosted by Auburn University’s the Cary Center for the Advancement of Philanthropy and Nonprofit Studies and the United Way of Central Alabama.

The Cary Center’s mission is to foster financial responsibility, philanthropy and nonprofit education by providing mentorship, outreach and educational opportunities.

Birmingham area nonprofits were invited to attend the event on August 30, which featured insights from various experts on topics such as nonprofit accounting basics, grant writing and the recruitment and retention of nonprofit staff.

I really enjoyed speaking at the Cary Center’s Nonprofit Training Series,” said Grauel. “I have always loved working with clients in the nonprofit industry, so I was excited about helping attendees gain more insight about accounting and financial best practices. It was a great experience, and I appreciated meeting and speaking to so many nonprofit leaders in our community.”

Grauel joined Warren Averett in 2012 and is a Member in the firm’s Audit Division. He has extensive experience serving clients across multiple industries, including nonprofits, manufacturing, private equity and technology. He is also a member of the firm’s Audit Best Practice Leadership Group, which ensures the firm’s Audit Division is improving and maintaining compliance with all technical, technological and procedural matters.
