Destin Forward is a nine-month leadership program hosted by the Destin Chamber that is designed to provide a hands-on learning experience to local professionals about the issues that the Destin Community is facing.
The panel featured a few local professionals, who all joined to chat about community involvement in the Destin area. Perkins discussed his board involvement in the Greater Fort Walton Beach Chamber of Commerce, United Way, Warren Averett’s 50 Acts of Service in the Gulf Coast area, the firm’s holiday giving with donations to local charities and the Volunteer for Vacation program, where team members can earn additional vacation time after they participate in volunteer hours.
“I really enjoyed speaking on the panel for Destin Forward’s latest class of bright professionals,” said Perkins. “I’ve been fortunate in my time at Warren Averett to enjoy a company culture that encourages community service and involvement at all levels. It’s my hope that the Destin Forward class had a better understanding of what that looks like and hopefully will be a little more inclined to volunteer in the future.”
Perkins has been with the firm since 2014 and is a Senior Manager in the Tax Department. He has over eight years of experience in the public accounting field.
