Tommy Sisson Appointed as Chair of the Board of Directors for the Birmingham Zoo

, Managing Member of Warren Averett’s Birmingham accounting and advisory office, has been appointed to serve as the Chair of the Board of Directors for the Birmingham Zoo.
The Birmingham Zoo is one of Alabama’s most popular attractions and features animals from all over the world. The zoo covers 122 acres and has approximately 500 animals from 180 species, as well as endangered species from six continents. The zoo prides itself on its amazing animal care, educational programing, conservation initiatives and Species Survival Plans.
Sisson has served on the Board of Directors in various capacities for over ten years. His term as Chair will last two years.
“It is an honor to serve as the Chair for the Birmingham Zoo,” said Sisson. “I’ve held a special place in my heart for animals since I was a child and regularly visited the Birmingham Zoo with my family. The zoo team does an incredible job of inspiring passion for animals and conservation of nature through innovative programs and many hands-on experiences for people of all ages. The Birmingham Zoo has an exciting future, and I am excited to see it grow and thrive.”
Tommy Sisson has been with Warren Averett for 40 years and has served clients in many different capacities.
He serves as the Managing Member for the Birmingham office and on the firm’s Executive Committee. As Managing Member, Tommy is dedicated to cultivating a culture of client-centered service that delivers value-based solutions so that clients can thrive and accomplish what is important to them.
He resides in Birmingham with his wife Leigh Ann and is highly involved in the local community. Tommy is a part of The Rotary Club of Birmingham, the Monday Morning Quarterback Club, the Birmingham Business Alliance and serves on several boards.
