Van Trefethen Named to Birmingham Business Journal’s Rising Stars of Accounting
Warren Averett CPAs and Advisors is pleased to announce that Van Trefethen has been recognized as a Rising Star of Accounting by the Birmingham Business Journal.
The Rising Star of Accounting award recognizes up-and-coming accountants who are already making their mark on Birmingham’s accounting scene. The awards honor individuals for their contributions to their firms, the industry and the Birmingham community.
“Van is such a well-rounded young man and an obvious choice for our Firm when thinking about who our rising stars are,” says Megan Randolph, Member and service area leader of the Warren Averett Birmingham Tax division. “He never gives less than 100% in everything that he does, and it is rare to find someone with that type of work ethic.”
Van Trefethen is a Senior Manager within the Firm’s Tax Division and was a leader on Warren Averett’s Tax Reform Taskforce. Trefethen has been with the Firm since 2011. He specializes in tax planning and compliance for closely-held and private-equity owned businesses. He also provides financial statement reviews and compilations.
Trefethen earned his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, Accountancy from Auburn University and his Master of Accounting from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. He is a Junior Board Member with United Ability, a nonprofit organization that provides services connecting people with disabilities to their communities.
