Anniston Office Collects Donations for Court Appointed Special Advocates

Written by Warren Averett on January 15, 2021

In December, Warren Averett’s Anniston office hosted a donation drive to support Court Appointed Special Advocates of the Cheaha Region—an organization that provides abused, neglected or abandoned children with a highly-trained volunteer to advocate for the child’s best interest before family courts in the counties of St. Clair, Talladega and Calhoun.

This organization also works in conjunction with lawyers, judges and social workers to help ensure children receive appropriate care and support while navigating the court, child welfare and foster care systems. There are currently 325 kids in their care.

Our Anniston accountants and advisors collected donations of new toys, coloring books, crayons and other kid-friendly items. These toys and small gifts will help CASA’s volunteers be able to break the ice with children when they first meet.

Rachel Allen, the receptionist at our Anniston office location, helped to coordinate the initiative for our team. Rachel said, “Foster care and adoption have always been a big passion of my heart. We are joining in this cause to bring a little bit of joy and normalcy to these kids who are in such a difficult place in life.”

Thanks to each member of our Anniston team who participated and supported this great organization and the work it is doing in our community!
