Written on July 8, 2025

Warren Averett CPAs and Advisors, a top accounting and advisory firm with offices across the Southeast, is proud to announce that April Harry has been named as the firm’s new Chief Executive Officer (CEO), effective July 1, 2025.

She succeeds Mary Elliott, who has led the firm since 2018. Angela Balent will assume the role of Chief Operating Officer (COO), taking over the position previously held by April.

“April has been instrumental in helping guide our firm’s strategy and culture,” said Mary Elliott. “She leads with clarity, compassion and conviction, and I’m confident she will continue to elevate Warren Averett’s impact.”

April Harry has been a key leader at Warren Averett for almost two decades, most recently serving as the firm’s COO, a member of the Executive Committee and as the chair of the Operations Board. She brings a deep understanding of the firm’s operations, culture and strategic vision.

With this appointment, April becomes Warren Averett’s second female CEO and one of only seven women to lead a top 50 accounting firm in the United States.

“I’m honored to follow in Mary Elliott’s footsteps and continue the progress she has made in shaping Warren Averett’s future,” said April. “We’ve built incredible momentum as a firm, and I’m excited to keep that energy going—focusing on innovation, growth and delivering exceptional value to our clients and communities.”

We extend a heartfelt thanks to Mary Elliott for her years of dedicated leadership and guidance. As our firm begins a new chapter, we remain committed to maintaining standards of excellence and providing meaningful services and insight to organizations across the Southeast.
