Advisors Speak at ASCPA Meeting
Several of Warren Averett’s team members took the stage at the Alabama Society of CPAs’ Annual Meeting to share insights on trends shaping the accounting profession. Discussions focused on practical artificial intelligence applications, recruiting and retaining talent, and how intentional investments in people and technology can strengthen engagement and client service.
Summer Fun Across the Firm
June brought plenty of opportunities for our people to learn, connect and have fun together.
Tampa team members put their baking skills to the test during the office’s third annual bake-off. Eight desserts were entered into the competition, giving everyone a chance to sample a variety of sweet treats and cast their votes. Congratulations to Vishaka Aguilera for creating the winning dessert! The annual event continues to be a fun way for teammates to connect and show off their culinary talents.
Our Birmingham team and their families gathered at Cahaba Brewing Company for a crawfish boil filled with good food, great company and plenty of fun. The event offered an opportunity to connect outside of work and celebrate the people who make our firm special.
Also in Birmingham, a favorite tradition is making a comeback. Team members are returning to the lanes for the Summer Bowling League. The pre-COVID event gives teammates an opportunity to enjoy some friendly competition each Thursday throughout the summer.
Jennifer Williams and Jessica Story Speak at GSCPA Not-for-Profit Conference
Atlanta’s Jennifer Williams, CPA, and Jessica Story, CPA, recently spoke to attendees at the Georgia Society of Certified Public Accountants’ (GSCPA) 2026 Not-for-Profit Conference. During the conference, they presented on nonprofit financial statements with a focus on revenue recognition and disclosure risks.
