Warren Averett Hosts Balance Sheet Bash for Alabama Business Students
Warren Averett’s Birmingham accounting and advisory office recently hosted the 2026 Balance Sheet Bash. Sponsored by the Alabama Society of Certified Public Accountants, the free event is designed as a career and professional development day for business students and helps promote diversity in the accounting profession.
On January 22, 2026, attendees enjoyed an agenda full of career-building opportunities and professional exposure. Throughout the day, they participated in sessions featuring motivational speakers, leadership training and interviews with accounting professionals. Breakfast and lunch were provided on-site.
The Balance Sheet Bash is more than a traditional conference and gives students the chance to hear directly from professionals who have walked the path they are beginning. Students also learned how to approach college decisions, internships and early career choices while building relationships that could open doors long after the event wraps up.
Students were engaged throughout the day, asking thoughtful questions and joining in conversations that strengthened their understanding of the accounting profession and the CPA pathway.
Representatives from the firm’s campus recruiting team, along with Paul Perry, CPA, CITP, CISM, Rusty Pickering, CPA, CSC, Darnesha Green, CPA, Kevin Wang, CPA, CGFM, CITP, and Justin Headley, CPA, CISSP, CISA, CRISC, served as speakers and participated in the event.
