Huntsville Office Coordinates Holiday Service Projects for Two Local Nonprofits

Written by Warren Averett on December 29, 2020

The Huntsville office recently coordinated two projects to support two local organizations doing great work in our Huntsville community—the Salvation Army and the Huntsville Downtown Rescue Mission.

Each year in December, Warren Averett’s Huntsville office coordinates service initiatives to support the local community. Evan Crouse, a Financial Planning Associate for Warren Averett Asset Management, helped to coordinate this year’s projects on behalf of the Huntsville team.

“I was unsure on the level of participation we would get for this year’s holiday gifting.  I would have understood if we had limited participation due to most team members working remotely and everyone having their own unique challenges with the virus. So, I was blown away by the generosity shown by our team members!  We have a team that cares about others and its local community and is ready to step up to the plate to help, even during these challenging and complex times,” Evan said.

The accountants and advisors in our Huntsville office have sponsored and collected gifts for local children through the Salvation Army’s Adopt-an-Angel Program for many years. This year, our team was able to provide gifts for four children—who otherwise may not have received gifts this holiday season—through this program!

In addition to collecting these gifts, the Huntsville team also provided 200 hot meals for the local homeless community through a collective donation to the Huntsville Downtown Rescue Mission, an organization dedicated to serving “homeless and hurting men, women and children by providing free meals, shelter, recovery services, transitional support and community outreach.”

Cindy Hill, a Member in Warren Averett’s Huntsville Tax Division, said, “It makes our hearts swell to help others. We are the ones truly blessed to be able to help.”

Thanks to each team member in our Huntsville office location who participated, and thanks to both of these wonderful organizations for the great work they are doing in our Huntsville community!
