Birmingham Advisors Participate in Junior Achievement of Alabama’s Accountants Classic Olympics

Written by Christi Newman on December 8, 2021

Warren Averett’s Birmingham CPA office recently participated in the Junior Achievement of Alabama’s (JA of Alabama) Accountants Classic Olympics.

JA of Alabama is a nonprofit organization that’s dedicated to educating K-12 students about workforce readiness, entrepreneurship and financial literacy. Their unique approach allows volunteers from the community to deliver the organization’s curriculum while volunteers share their personal and professional experiences and skills with students.

Volunteers help students make the connection between what they are learning in school and what they will need to succeed in work and life.

JA of Alabama’s programs deal with real issues like workforce readiness and entrepreneurship so that young people not only understand their opportunities in life, but they can also take advantage of them.

During the 2021 Accountants Classic Olympics, Birmingham accounting firms participated in a series of fun events and donated money to help continue educating these students.

The Firm participated in five events, ranging from bowling to virtual trivia. Fourteen team members ended up raising a total of $1,573.61 to donate to JA of Alabama as they tested both their mental and physical fitness.

Thanks to all our Birmingham accountants, advisors and professionals who participated in the events and supported JA of Alabama. Learn more about JA of Alabama or our Birmingham accounting and advisory team.
