For 40 years, the Family Sunshine Center has worked to educate the community on the devastating effects of violence and provide programs and services to victims and their families. Some of their goals are to foster hope and healing, to offer immediate response and a safe haven in crisis and empower victims to lead safe, violence-free lives.
They do this through providing residential services for anyone who seeks refuge with them, offering a crisis intervention service that provides immediate and emergency-oriented resources to help anyone who fears for their safety, and through other services that are free and available to anyone – regardless of their race, gender or age.
Our Montgomery CPAs and business professionals used a list provided by the Family Sunshine Center to collect donations and gifts for two families being served by the Family Sunshine Center. Our team shopped and wrapped for these families, and in all, donated over $1,000 worth of gifts, making 16 people smile during this holiday season.
“It was an honor to support the Family Sunshine Center again this year,” said Sandy Coaker, CPA, Office Managing Member in our Montgomery office and Treasurer for the Family Sunshine Center’s Board of Directors. “We’ve proudly supported this organization since 1982, and each year, our team helps the organization, its clients and their families through board service, volunteering and personal giving. We couldn’t think of a more worthy cause and this year, we hope to make an even greater impact on this organization.”
