Montgomery Office Volunteers and Hosts Drive for Family Sunshine Center

Written by Warren Averett on January 11, 2021

Montgomery Sunshine EventThis month, Warren Averett’s Montgomery office had the opportunity to once again support the Family Sunshine Center—an organization that “provides services for victims of family violence, stalking, sexual assault and human trafficking.”

Our accountants, advisors and professionals were provided with a recommended shopping list, and they collected donations and gifts to support the Family Sunshine Center. In the end, our Montgomery team was able to donate nearly $1,000 in cash and gift cards, and they contributed over a dozen volunteer hours to provide holiday gifts for six families.

Warren Averett has proudly supported the Family Sunshine Center since 1982. Members and staff have provided financial support and service to the Family Sunshine Center through board leadership, financial advice, volunteerism and personal giving.

Here’s what a few of our Montgomery team members had to say:

  • “I participated by giving, shopping and wrapping for the individuals/families. Christmas is a hard time for people/families, and the pandemic has increased the need this year…I just wanted to pay it forward by helping other people.” – Sheri Witcher, Executive Assistant
  • “The Family Sunshine Center has been dear to my heart for years. During my 12 years of involvement at FSC as a volunteer, then Treasurer, VP and President of the Board of Directors, I heard countless stories of families fleeing from an abusive situation with nothing of their own. The trauma these families have been through and the fear they continue to live with is truly heartbreaking. Blessing these families with things they need and want, giving them moments of joy, and letting them know someone cares is why supporting the Family Sunshine Center is so important to me.” – Jeri Groce, Audit Senior Manager
  • “I feel it is important to support organizations like the Family Sunshine Center based on the critical impact they have on the community. The Family Sunshine Center has played an important role in ensuring safety, security and necessary services are provided to individuals in danger. I am thankful for their mission and am happy for the opportunity to provide support.” – Elizabeth Finley, Audit Manager

Thanks to all of our accountants, advisors and professionals in Montgomery who participated and made this drive a success!
