Transaction Advisory Group Sponsors Atlanta’s M&A South 2023
Members of Warren Averett’s Transaction Advisory Group in the Atlanta office were proud to sponsor M&A South 2023, the premier networking event for all facets of corporate growth and middle-market deal-making. The firm’s own Kim Hartsock participated in numerous events (including the Women’s Forum Breakfast) and even moderated the event’s keynote session. This event kicks off our Transaction Advisory Group’s conference schedule that ends in November.
Warren Averett Teams Continue to Connect Virtually and In Person
Warren Averett’s teams are striving to put relationships first in today’s work environment. In Atlanta, our Executive Assistants met up in the office for their first in-person monthly gathering. The Gulf Coast offices joined together for fitness and fun with a walking group, a yoga instructor and more to promote closeness and fun. Lastly, our Panama City team members enjoyed a friendly game of Settlers of Catan during their lunch break.

Rick Blanton Receives Silver Beaver Award from the Boy Scouts of America
Rick Blanton, CPA, of the firm’s Montgomery office, has received the Silver Beaver Award from the Boy Scouts of America’s National Court of Honor for his work with the Tukabatchee Area Council. The Silver Beaver Award is granted by the National Court of Honor to those who have made an impact on the lives of youths in their local community through the Boy Scouts. Ashley Hawthorne Selected for the Georgia Society of CPAs’ Young CPA Advisory Board
Atlanta’s Ashley Hawthorne, CPA, has been selected to serve on the Georgia Society of CPAs’ (GSCPA) Young CPA Advisory Board. Branden Crosby Appointed to the Destin Chamber’s Executive Committee
Destin’s Branden Crosby, CPA, CGMA, has been appointed to serve on the Destin Chamber’s Executive Committee as the Vice Chairman of Community and Tourism Development. This will be Crosby’s first year serving on the Executive Committee and his second working with the Destin Chamber on the Board of Directors. Charles Emert Appointed to Forsyth County Chamber’s Board of Directors
Charles Emert, CPA, of the firm’s Atlanta office, has been selected to join the Forsyth County Chamber of Commerce’s Board of Directors. The Forsyth County Chamber of Commerce’s purpose is to increase prosperity and to promote and better the local community. This will be Emert’s first year on the board. Greg Sellers Elected to Serve on the Alabama Federal and State Tax Institute’s Board
Montgomery’s Greg Sellers, CPA, AEP ®,has been chosen to serve on the Board of Directors and as Treasurer for the Alabama Federal and State Tax Institute (AFSTI). AFSTI focuses on providing quality educational resources, services and programs to taxation professionals and encourages college students to pursue professional education in the tax field.
