Warren Averett Announces Growth Leadership Updates Across the Southeast
Warren Averett CPAs and Advisors is pleased to announce several leadership updates that will strengthen client relationships and support continued growth across the Southeast. The changes are effective July 1, 2026.
Derek Johnson has been named Local Partner in Charge – Growth for the Tampa office.
Stephen Schaaf, CPA, has been named Local Partner in Charge – Growth for the Birmingham and Anniston offices and Regional Partner in Charge – Growth for Birmingham, Anniston, Huntsville, Cullman and Atlanta.
Kevin Bowyer, CPA, CITP, CISA, CDPSE, will continue serving as Regional Partner in Charge – Growth for the Gulf Coast and Tampa markets and has also assumed Regional Partner in Charge – Growth responsibilities for Montgomery.
In these roles, Johnson, Schaaf and Bowyer will help strengthen local market connections, support business development efforts and ensure clients have access to the firm’s full range of services and expertise.

Derek joined Warren Averett in 2014 and has played a key role in strengthening the firm’s presence in the Tampa Bay market. As a member of the firm’s Growth Advisory Team, he works closely with business leaders to connect them with the resources and specialized expertise needed to achieve their goals.
Stephen has been with Warren Averett for more than 30 years and serves on the firm’s Executive Committee. Throughout his career, he has advised closely held businesses on operational, financial and tax matters and is widely recognized for his relationship-focused approach to serving clients.
Kevin joined the firm in 1990 and serves as a Member in the Audit Division and Risk Advisory & Assurance Services Group, as well as on the firm’s Executive Committee. He has extensive experience helping organizations navigate risk, improve operations and position themselves for long-term success.
