Warren Averett’s Foley Office Celebrates One Year in New Downtown Office

Team members in our Foley office recently celebrated their one year anniversary in their downtown office. To celebrate the momentous occasion and the holiday season, they hosted a ribbon cutting and an open house on the evening of December 3, 2021, in partnership with the South Baldwin Chamber of Commerce. Birmingham Advisors Participate in Junior Achievement of Alabama’s Accountants Classic Olympics

Our Birmingham accountants and advisors recently participated in the Junior Achievement of Alabama’s (JA of Alabama) Accountants Classic Olympics. The JA of Alabama Accountants Classic Olympics had Birmingham accounting firms participate in a series of fun events to raise money for students to learn about workforce readiness, entrepreneurship and financial literacy. Allie Pickerill Recognized as Birmingham Business Journal’s NextGen in Workforce and Education

Allie Pickerill of the Firm’s Birmingham office has been recognized as a NextGenBHM: Workforce & Education award winner by the Birmingham Business Journal (BBJ). The NextGenBHM: Workforce & Education award recognizes those 30 years old or younger who are shaping the talent pool. Even though the dynamics of talent retention and recruitment in the region have changed, the workforce has been a large focus, and leaders throughout the Birmingham area have emphasized educating future business leaders. Cody Daughtry Completes Leadership Montgomery’s Torchbearers Class

Cody Daughtry, CPA, CITP, of our Montgomery office, has graduated from Leadership Montgomery’s Torchbearers Class. The Torchbearers Class was established in 2008 in response to the community’s need to attract and retain an educated population of young professionals; it is a nine-month class designed to equip young leaders with the skills and connections necessary to propel them to the next level of community leadership and professional success. Scott Pruitt Named Among Birmingham Business Journal’s Veterans of Influence

Scott Pruitt, CDPSE, CISA, an IT Security Manager in the Firm’s Security, Risk and Controls Group of our Birmingham accounting office, was named as one of the Birmingham Business Journal’s (BBJ) 2021 Veterans of Influence. The BBJ’s Veterans of Influence feature recognizes military veterans who have served their country and have gone on to have successful careers in Birmingham’s business community. Warren Averett Brings Joy to Our Local Communities

This holiday season, the Firm supported several charities making an impact in our local communities. Team members throughout the Firm’s footprint voted to designate these six organizations as support recipients:

  • 305 8th Street serves adults with a wide range of disabilities and helps them advocate for their strengths, enabling personal growth and broadening their network of friends and family.
  • Atlanta Mission is committed to empowering and providing services to individuals who are experiencing homelessness.
  • Child Protect is a children’s advocacy center that supports the victims of child abuse by offering multidisciplinary services to minimize trauma and rebuild young lives.
  • Santa Rosa Kids’ House coordinates responses to child abuse and deploys resources for neglected children.
  • Best Buddies offers enriching programs designed to cultivate opportunity for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
  • United Ability connects people with disabilities to their communities by offering innovative programs. The full spectrum of their services is not found anywhere else in the state of Alabama.
