Jess Brawner Participates in the 2023 Momentum Upward Program

Written on January 9, 2023

Jess Brawner, Director of People Operations, who works out of the Birmingham accounting office, has been selected for 2023 Momentum Upward, a career leadership program for women.

The program leverages Momentum’s expertise and network to help develop the next generation of talented leaders who are in early- and mid-career phases of development and were selected after a lengthy application process.

This is the fifth year of the program, and chosen participants will attend monthly, half-day sessions over a nine-month period. The interactive sessions are led by training professionals and former Momentum alumnae, who know the most actionable lessons to teach participants that could influence the trajectories of their careers.

Brawner will join a class of 67 professionals, where she will hone her personal and professional leadership skills as an emergent leader. In between these sessions, participants will complete assignments, meet with peers in their co-mentoring group and enjoy networking opportunities.

Jess Brawner joined the firm in 2012 after previously working in marketing and client service in the banking industry. Her primary responsibilities include reviewing and forecasting staffing needs, monitoring firmwide performance metrics, seeking ways to promote efficiencies and fostering ways to keep Warren Averett a great place to work. She resides in Hoover, Alabama, with her husband, daughter and two sons.

“It is an incredible honor to participate in the Momentum Upward program,” said Brawner. “I look forward to collaborating with and learning from other professionals over the next nine months as we strive towards advancement in our careers. I can’t wait to implement what I learn and see how it will impact my professional and personal development and my career at Warren Averett.”
