Warren Averett Team Members Are Active in Events and Celebrations Across the Southeast
During the Month of March, team members in various offices enjoyed holiday celebrations, seasonal treats, college visits and retirement parties.
- In Warren Averett’s Pensacola office, the team enjoyed a picnic before they entered the final stretch of client service season.
- In Montgomery, team members gathered together to celebrate the retirement of the office’s receptionist who served the firm for over 37 years.
- Panama City team members saw green on St. Patrick’s Day and proved themselves pinch proof during their themed celebration.
- Our Campus Recruiters were busy throughout the month of March visiting future CPAs and business leaders.
- Tampa’s very own Richard Huckaby, CPA, gave the invocation for the March CEO Council of Tampa Bay’s meeting on March 1.

Huntsville Office Hosts CFO Roundtable for Government Contractors
At the end of March, team members in Warren Averett’s Huntsville office hosted a CFO roundtable for government contractors. The event provided an interactive forum for CFOs, controllers and business owners to share topics of interest and best practices with each other.
Kathy Wales Participates in Leadership Montgomery’s Torchbearers Class
Kathy Wales, CPA, a Supervisor in the firm’s Montgomery office, is participating in the 2023 Leadership Montgomery’s Torchbearers Class. The Torchbearers Class program is a nine-month class that was designed for young professionals who are involved in their communities and want to enhance their careers. Konnor Amis Earns AICPA’s Accredited in Business Valuation Credential
Birmingham’s Konnor Amis, CPA/ABV, CFE, recently received his Accredited in Business Valuation (ABV®) credential from the American Institute of CPAs (AICPA). The ABV® credential is AICPA’s way of recognizing CPAs and qualified valuation professionals who have demonstrated considerable expertise in valuation. Mindy Rankin Presents in FICPA Webinar and is Appointed to the AICPA Disaster Tax Relief Task Force
Mindy Porep Rankin, CPA, CCD, of the firm’s Panama City office, presented in a disaster recovery webinar, Hurricanes Ian and Nicole: Tax Matters, hosted by the Florida Institute of Certified Public Accountants (FICPA) at the end of February. Over 150 attendees gained a better understanding of how the recent hurricanes and natural disasters affected Florida taxes. Learn more about Mindy Rankin and the FICPA webinar.
Rankin was also appointed to the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants’ (AICPA) Disaster Tax Relief Task Force. The Disaster Tax Relief Task Force’s mission is to monitor and consider tax advocacy comments related to disaster tax relief, including letters to the Internal Revenue Service (IRS), the Treasury and Congress regarding needed guidance and legislation. Steve Barranco Appointed as President of the Board of Directors for the Montgomery Area Food Bank
Montgomery’s Steve Barranco, CPA, has been elected to serve as the President of the Board of Directors for the Montgomery Area Food Bank. Tommy Sisson Appointed as Chair of the Board of Directors for the Birmingham Zoo
