Responsibilities:
Network Infrastructure Management:
-Design, implement, and maintain network infrastructure for clients, with a focus on firewalls and switches.
– Monitor network performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure optimal uptime and performance.
– Conduct regular network assessments and provide recommendations for improvements.
– Provide guidance and training to staff on cybersecurity best practices and procedures.

Firewall Configuration and Management:
– Configure, deploy, and maintain firewall solutions to ensure network security and compliance.
– Implement and manage firewall policies, rules, and access controls based on client requirements and industry best practices.
– Perform regular security audits and assessments on firewall configurations.

Switch Configuration and Optimization:
– Configure and manage network switches to optimize performance, reliability, and scalability.
– Implement VLANs, spanning tree protocols, and other advanced switching technologies as needed.
– Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to switch connectivity, VLANs, and network segmentation.

Client Support and Consultation:
– As a subject matter expert and provide technical guidance and support to clients on network-related matters.
– Collaborate with clients to understand their business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
– Participate in meetings and presentations with clients to discuss network strategies, upgrades, and projects.

Documentation and Reporting:
– Maintain accurate documentation of network configurations, diagrams, and procedures.
– Generate reports on network performance, security incidents, and capacity planning.
– Ensure documentation is up-to-date and accessible to internal teams and clients.

Collaboration and Teamwork:
– Work closely with other teams within the organization, including security, infrastructure, and support teams, to deliver integrated solutions.
– Mentor and provide guidance to junior network engineers to foster skill development and knowledge sharing.
– Collaborate with vendors and third-party providers to evaluate and integrate new technologies and solutions.

Qualifications:

– Minimum of 5 years of experience in network engineering roles, preferably within a managed service provider environment.
– In-depth knowledge and hands-on experience with firewall technologies (e.g., Cisco ASA, Palo Alto, Fortinet) and switching technologies (e.g., Cisco Catalyst, Juniper EX).
– Strong understanding of networking protocols and technologies, including TCP/IP, VLANs, routing protocols (e.g., OSPF, BGP), and VPNs.
– Experience with network security concepts, including intrusion detection/prevention, access control lists, and security best practices.
– Certifications such as CCNP, CCIE, JNCIP, or equivalent are highly desirable.
– Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex network issues.
– Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with clients and internal teams.
– Proven ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
– Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field preferred.
