Warren Averett’s Atlanta Office Participates in Annual Georgia Accounting Food Fight
Warren Averett CPAs and Advisors is proud to announce that the Firm’s Atlanta office recently participated in and exceeded their fundraising goal for the annual Georgia Accounting Food Fight. Sponsored by The Georgia Society of CPAs and the Georgia Food Bank Association, the 8th annual food fight is a friendly fundraising drive that aims to fight food insecurity in Georgia.
The Firm competed against other local CPA firms and local accountants in Atlanta. Team members rallied to support the cause and office participation was encouraged – as were donations from the rest of the Firm’s offices. The fundraising drive came to an end on August 20, and Warren Averett ranked 14th statewide.
Since the onset of the pandemic, Georgia’s food banks have been responding to an average 50% increase in need. The funds that the Firm raised will equal 22,960 meals for people facing food insecurity and will go to support the Atlanta Community Food Bank, the local food bank for the Atlanta area.
“It is absolutely heart-warming to be able to help people facing food insecurity,” said Kim Hartsock, CPA, Managing Member of the Atlanta office. “The Annual Georgia Accounting Food Fight is one of my favorite events. It helps team members and Firm leadership give back to the community and gives us a little bit of friendly competition with other firms. While we continue to help our clients thrive, sharing our success is one of the values that we strive towards every day to make us better professionally and personally.”
