Warren Averett’s Live Accounting Trends Series Returns in 2024
The firm’s annual Accounting Trends event will be delivered as a series of two-hour, live monthly webinars from May to August. Warren Averett Announces Jennifer Hardin as New Chief Financial Officer
Jennifer Hardin, CPA, has been appointed as the firm’s new Chief Financial Officer (CFO). In her role as CFO, Hardin will manage and oversee the firm’s financial operations, including financial accounting, analysis and reporting, budgeting and forecasting, insurance and risk management, treasury management and accounts payable. Mary Elliott Recognized as a Top CPA by Forbes
The firm’s Chief Executive Officer Mary Elliott, CPA, was named by Forbes as one of America’s Top 200 CPAs for 2024. The inaugural list is a compilation of the finest CPAs active in public practice. Nominees were chosen based on a range of weighted criteria, including expertise, innovation and contributions to their communities and the accounting profession. Atlanta Office Celebrates Strong Client Service
Atlanta team members celebrated the end of tax season with bocce, shuffleboard, darts and more at Ormsby’s, a classic neighborhood tavern. Not only did the team enjoy some friendly competition, but they also enjoyed the great atmosphere and diverse menu selections that Ormsby’s has to offer.
Pensacola Team Goes Golfing
Our Pensacola office sponsored NAIOP Northwest Florida during their 19th Annual Golf Classic, and some team members even took to the green to show off their golfing skills. NAIOP Northwest Florida strives to provide developers, owners and other professionals in the office, industrial, retail and mixed-use real estate industry with the best possible educational resources and networking opportunities.
Government Contracting Advisors Host Networking Event
Our Government Contracting team members co-hosted a happy hour on the harbor with the Special Operations Forces earlier this month in Tampa. The firm’s GovCon team always enjoys cohosting with other experts and chatting with professionals to help gain more perspective on the industry’s unique challenges.
Huntsville Team Supports Local Heart Walk
Our Huntsville team participated in the Huntsville Heart Walk, where they raised $1,000 in support of the American Heart Association. The American Heart Association is dedicated to fighting heart disease and strokes. The organization has invested more than $5 billion in research, and it is the largest not-for-profit funding source for cardiovascular and cerebrovascular disease research.

Our Construction team had a great time at the AGC Georgia’s Young Leadership Program’s (YLP) 25th Annual Golf Classic. Warren Averett sponsors the Golf Classic to allow the YLP members to make an impact through giving back while bringing awareness to the importance of the construction industry.
Atlanta Team Members Run in Midtown Assistance Center’s Tenth Annual Midtown Race
In Atlanta, team members supported, sponsored and ran in Midtown Assistance Center’s 10th Annual Midtown Race. The Annual Midtown Race raises money to provide essential emergency assistance to Atlanta’s low-income residents.
Jason Alves Graduates From Leadership Northwest Florida Program
Panama City’s Jason Alves, CPA, graduated from Leadership Northwest Florida’s Class II. Leadership Northwest Florida is a seven-month educational program offered to professionals in all industries that helps participants grow their knowledgebase, networks and skillsets. Kim Hartsock Wins the Georgia Society of Certified Public Accountants’ 2024 Public Service Award
Atlanta’s Managing Member Kim Hartsock, CPA, has won the Georgia Society of Certified Public Accountants’ (GSCPA) 2024 Public Service Award. The annual Public Service Award is hand selected by the Board Chair and recognizes a Georgia CPA who has distinguished him or herself in public service activities.
