SOC Reporting, Examinations and Attestation

Your customers are working toward excellent financial integrity and solid cybersecurity health within their own companies—and they expect the same from your organization. A System and Organization Controls (SOC) report can help prove to your customers that you take processing of their information or protection of their data seriously, leading to more trust, greater efficiency, enhanced protection and increased credibility for your company.

MAKE IMPROVEMENTS TO REDUCE YOUR RISK

By undergoing a SOC exam, you can identify specific information that allows you to make the most valuable improvements to your internal controls which may help reduce the risk of processing errors, data loss, cyber threats and unauthorized access to your information.

INCREASE CUSTOMER TRUST AND COMPETITIVE ADVANTAGE

Having a third party review your systems and offer an unbiased opinion on your controls demonstrates that your organization is committed to addressing control risks, security and transparency—allowing your partners the comfort of knowing their data is safe with you.

OPTIMIZE YOUR PROCESSES AND MITIGATE RISKS

A SOC exam can expose inefficiencies in your organization, opening the door to streamline your operations, improve your responses to unforeseen events, enhance the allocation of resources and boost your overall security and risk posture.

Why a SOC?

Your customers want to know that control risks are being addressed or that their information is safe with your company, so having transparency in your system and organization controls has never been more important. A SOC report can be one of your biggest assets and most useful tools to build trust with your customers. Warren Averett’s advisors will help you understand your stakeholders’ requirements, help determine the right solution and advise you on making valuable improvements to your processes and controls.

SOC Video Series

Watch as a SOC advisor coaches you through the basics of the exam, process, report and results in five short videos.

SOC Readiness Assessment

Having a SOC examination performed prematurely could end in wasted resources and undesirable results. Before you have a SOC exam, it’s imperative to be sure that you’re ready for it. That’s why we offer SOC Readiness Assessments to walk you through the process, identify any gap areas and help ensure you are ready for the exam.

Types of SOC Exams

SOC reports come in various types, each serving a specific purpose, and knowing which one is right for you makes all the difference. Your SOC advisor will help you determine which SOC report and which type is right for your organization, so your investment in the process will yield the best results for your goals.

The SOC Process

After evaluating your existing policies, procedures and controls, your advisor will ask you to provide relevant documentation depending on the type of SOC exam you’ve chosen. Your SOC advisor will then complete the exam and form an opinion for the auditor’s report. The final product is a SOC report that includes the auditor’s opinion, management’s assertion, management’s system description and the auditor’s test results (for Type 2 examinations). We’ll be with you every step of the way, so you gain the most value from the experience and the findings.
